Religious Education

St. Dominic Church provides religious instruction for children in grades K-12. Children are prepared to receive their First Holy Communion after at least two years of instruction, usually in the 2nd grade. Parent involvement is critical. Students who are Juniors or Seniors are prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation after two years of preparation. Parents are encouraged to be a part of this preparation.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process where adults can prepare to receive the Sacraments if Initiation, Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. This program begins in September and is completed with the Easter Vigil.

RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation of Children) is a two- or three-year program for families whose children are seven or older and have never been baptized.

Adult classes for Confirmation are for adults who are Church-going but did not become full members of the Church. It is a program of at least nine classes ending with the Sacrament of Confirmation administered by the Bishop or Archbishop during the Easter Season.

Weekly Bible Study is given by Deacon Scott Imburgia, and is a preparation for Sunday Liturgy.

Study of the Basics of the Faith (eight classes) will begin in September, 2009.

VBS - Vacation Bible School is a study of Scripture for children 5-11 years. This is held July 6-10.
